"I think result was certainly not as expected and it is an opprtunity to pause and analyse, for results were not as per expected. In both Chhattisgarh and MP we were in power for 15 years and we have done well. I don't think there was aniti-incumbency but fatigue factor does come in," said Finance Minister Arun Jaitley.

Amitesh Shukla from Congress has won the Rajim assembly constituency by over 57,000 votes. Shukla won 90,850 votes. He defeated BJP's Santosh Upadhyay who bagged 36,535 votes.

Brushing aside predictions of a Congress win being made by several exit polls, state BJP chief Dharamlal Kaushik said the post-election surveys were based on assumptions only.
